How Parents Can Help With Homework At Home
Homework is practice and will help your child improve. But only if they do it!
Your child is expected to read every night. Make it fun!
Your child will also have math homework on Tuesday night. It should be returned the next day.

To help your child with their homework:
- Expect your child to read every day. You may read with him, listen to her read to you, or let her curl up to enjoy a book on her own. No matter what, make sure it is fun. Reading together is a great way to grow your relationship with your child.
- Let your child do his homework on their own, unless he asks for help. When giving help, try to let your child do as much of the work as possible. Ask him to explain his thinking which can help him work through his mistakes.
- Tell your child to come to you if she has any homework questions. Homework should not be hard. It should be practice of what has already been taught in school. The more we practice, the better we get (just like anything else in life). If you find that homework is hard for your child, please talk to me.
- Encourage your child to take responsibility for completing and turning in their homework.
